The Alnwick Garden is one of the world’s most ambitious new gardens. The Duchess of Northumberland’s vision for a forgotten plot is now a truly 21st century experience full of imagination, inspiration and fun. Designed by Jacques and Peter Wirtz, The Garden is a wonderful combination of spaces, themes, quirkiness and play.

From the tranquility of the Cherry Orchard, the excitement of the Grand Cascade and the mysteries of the Bamboo Labyrinth, to the Serpent Garden’s spell-binding water sculptures, the intrigue of the Poison Garden and one of the world’s largest tree houses – there is plenty to surprise and delight.

The Garden is a space designed to be enjoyed by all your senses, with a collection of over 4,000 plant varieties to discover, thousands of seasonal blooms and countless opportunities to get wet and play in The Garden’s water sculptures .

All day car parking for The Alnwick Garden and Alnwick Castle is available adjacent to the site, a £3 cash fee applies, alternatively you can purchase parking in advance.

The main Garden car park is off Denwick Lane (B1340). The postcode for The Alnwick Garden car park is NE66 1YU

A free car park for Blue Badge-holders is available at The Garden just off Denwick Lane. It is advised that disabled visitors to Alnwick Castle also use this car park and enter the Castle via the pathway through Bowburn Park (the picnic area between the Castle and The Garden).

Dogs, other than assistance dogs, are not permitted within The Alnwick Garden. Some spaces in the main car park can provide shade but availability can not be guaranteed. We do not recommend leaving dogs in a vehicle however there are lovely walks alongside the River Aln offering spectacular views of Alnwick Castle a few minutes walk from the car park, please ask the car park attendants to point you in the right direction.

Ball games, roller-blades, skateboards or micro-scooters are not permitted within The Alnwick Garden.
